EBRPD Keeps Tesla in Master Plan

East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) retained the Tesla Park land as a potential regional preserve in its updated Master Plan adopted on July 16, for sale 2013.   The identification of Tesla as a potential regional preserve fits Tesla like a glove:

A Regional Preserve is an area with outstanding natural or cultural features that are protected for their intrinsic value as well as for the enjoyment and education of the public.  The essential feature of a Regional Preserve may be open space; wilderness; scenic beauty; flora; fauna; or archeological, stomach  historic or geological resources. (EBRPD Master Plan)

While State Parks owns the Tesla Park land and EBRPD cannot control the decision about the use plan for Tesla, EBRPD’s recognition of the special natural and cultural resources in Tesla is important to raise awareness of the importance of the decsion before the Sytate Parks Department.
